Save Our Sleep – Tizzie Hall – Baby Whisperer 232 views April 8, 2022 11:40 pm

In this episode we aim to discuss when to start a routine, in particular preventing sleep problems by starting at birth, as opposed to “sleep training” to “fix” sleep problems later on.
What we really end up discussing is - Tizzie continues the mice on houseboat saga - is Tizzie a houseboat ambassador?, Warhammer, Zoe being an unmarried celebrant, breaking a rule?? Helping mums who need to use infant formula, how many SIDS deaths from overheating in cots in Australia, if you want to co-sleep do it from day one and do it forever, how/why TOG rating, how/why Save Our Sleep Sleeping bags different to all others on market and how a breastfeeding routine is different to a bottle feeding routine.
This week's question is from Jessica “Why do bathtimes change so regularly in your routines?”
At 1:55 Tizzie looks uninterested in what Zoe’s saying (lol), not really, she was distracted by our larrikin film crew.
At 28:40 TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade!
If anything in this episode has triggered anything for you around mental health we strongly recommend you contact your child's health nurse or your GP.

Season 1, Episode 2 – Prevention is better than a cure!

Save Our Sleep – Tizzie Hall – Baby Whisperer views April 17, 2022 12:21 pm

In this episode we aim to discuss when to start a routine, and how and why Tizzie has structured hers the way she has.

What we really end up discussing is - Tizzie discusses how COVID is starting to affect her family. Zoe discusses her conversations with “the girls” about the Podcast. Routines & the effect on breastmilk. How mothers in Mozambique feed their babies. Deciphering babies cries. Babies are robots? The 7pm bus. Were Tizzie's boys on her routines?

Listener’s question from Bianca “How do you, or should you, stretch out baby's awake time if they’re crying from tiredness? What is the best way to do this? ie. gradually from the start.”

4 month sleep regression!

Save Our Sleep – Tizzie Hall – Baby Whisperer 596 views October 27, 2024 6:52 pm

Tizzie Hall has been working with children for many years and boasts a long list of relieved parents who have been helped with customised baby sleep solutions.

British, born and raised in Ireland, Tizzie started her Save Our Sleep® (SOS) business in the UK in 1996, after years of extensive research and development into her routines and articles. She moved to Melbourne in 2002 and has continued the success of her infant sleep solutions business.

In ten years of operation, SOS has helped thousands of babies and children of all ages to sleep through the night, every night. By shedding light on baby sleep patterns, Tizzie is able to put parents at ease about their baby’s behaviour. She arms them with the knowledge they need to assist their baby’s development.

Her program focuses on teaching parents to identify issues that are affecting their baby’s sleep, to interpret their baby’s cries and to deal with the inevitable sleep problems when they do arise. Consequently, it gives parents back their own sleep

Tizzie’s key to success revolves around working with parents and babies in their own homes. Every baby is assessed and treated individually in its own environment and a tailored sleep plan is developed. This is complemented by ongoing support and a guarantee of rapid results with dramatic changes for the better.

Tizzie’ s SOS offers a complete service to allay a large range of parenting concerns. In addition to sleep solutions, Tizzie is an experienced consultant in positive discipline methods, dietary and home environmental consulting, potty training and toilet training. She can also supervise or develop programs to get children on and off bottle-feeding or to eliminate dummy dependency and thumb-sucking.

Don’t banjax your nipples!

Save Our Sleep – Tizzie Hall – Baby Whisperer 34 views September 27, 2024 1:39 pm

Blankets are essential for keeping your baby warm, their warmth is measured using the TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) rating. All blankets in our range are rated at 0.6 TOG. For comparison, most adult duvets have a TOG rating between and 12 and 15.

Most adults love, and sleep better with heavy bedding. The weight makes us feel secure and comfortable. It is the same for your baby. It’s not just about warmth, but also the security that the blanket layers provide.

I recommend Save Our Sleep 0.6 TOG bamboo/cotton mix blankets for your baby’s bedding, as these are lightweight and breathable. Our blankets offer superior temperature control, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer, making them an excellent choice for any climate.

Avoid using blankets made from wool, polyester, or fleece, as they can make babies too hot and sweaty due to their lack of breathability. Please Note: Do not use doonas, duvet or quilts in a cot.

Cocooning Technique: Lay the blanket layers over your baby, ensuring their face is not covered, and push the blankets in at their sides to make your baby feel warm and secure. Ensure the blankets are also tucked at the bottom of the cot.

Blanket Layering: Start with the recommend number of blanker layers and adjust as necessary. Follow the tips in the ‘Too Hot or too Cold?’ section to determine if your baby is comfortable. (Refer to Safe Bedding Guide)
